Can I use catalogue design ideas for my home renovation?

Yes. You are not limited to Smith's creativity or your own, if you find a design you like, we can replicate it to give you exactly the look and feel you want. The Houzz website, has a great variety to choose from.

If I have a question during my project who can I speak with?

Your Project Manager will be your contact from start to finish. He/she has intimate knowledge of your project and can answer any and all questions that may come up.

How much experience does Smith Renovations have?

Smith has more nearly 30 years experience in all facets of construction.

Who will have access to my house and are they trustworthy?

Smith employees, trades and suppliers are background checked, bonded and insured.

What scope of the work can Smith help me out with?

Smith is a full service General Contractor with resources to complete quality projects from concept to completion.

Do I need other contractors to finish my project? 

No need for other contractors, Smith can do it all!

Do I have to move out during my renovation? 

Most renovations can be done without having to move out of the house, we use dust control to minimize the impact.

How long will my project take to complete? 

It all depends on the scope of work, as an example, most basement developments can be completed within 6 – 8 weeks.

Is it true that different times of the year are better for renovations? If so, how does this affect the price of my renovation?

Some renovations are better suited to “non winter construction” and example would be an addition where concrete foundations are required. Most other renovations can be done year round and does not increase the cost of the project.

What is your warranty policy?

Our warranty is two years on material and workmanship. Any deficiencies found to be latent will be covered for 10 years.

Do I need permits? Can Smith get them for me?

Permit requirement are determined before the project begins. If required, all permit applications and building inspections are handled by Smith.

How do I make changes once the project has started? 

Changes are made via “change order”. Change orders will be priced and agreed to before the change is implemented.

Should I purchase my own fixtures and materials or can you get a better deal?

All material and labour is supplied by Smith. Our purchasing power ensures better pricing than if purchased by an individual. Materials supplied through our vendors come with a comprehensive warranty on both material and workmanship.
